Red Wavy Water Lily in the in Vitro Cup
This red version of the popular Cryptocoryne undulatus is found in nature in the rivers of Sri Lanka, where it adapts to different conditions and can therefore be classified as a quite tolerant aquatic plant.
TheCryptocoryne undulata red is easy to care for and also tolerates many different conditions in the aquarium. Submersed (under water) this water carnation captivates visually mainly by its narrow, red and wavy leaves.

Low light conditions and nutrients in the aquarium allow the plant to grow relatively tall. In individual cases Cryptocoryne undulatus red become up to 30 cm high. Mostly the water lily shows itself green-brown colored and slow in growth at low light and nutrient conditions.
With sufficient lighting, optimal nutrient supply and CO2 addition growsCryptocoryne undulata red much faster and forms shorter, red-brown coloured leaves.
